MT&D Alumni Society

All alumni of the School of Music, Theatre & Dance of the University of Michigan, past and present faculty members, and friends who have demonstrated a vital interest in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance, are voting members of this Society.

Members of the Alumni Society are invited to nominate and elect the representatives that make up the MT&D Alumni Society Board of Governors.

All members of the Alumni Society are invited to participate in the Board of Governors annual business meeting, usually held during the fall term in conjunction with Homecoming Weekend.

Alumni Society members are encouraged to nominate fellow alumni and friends of the School for the annual Emerging Artist and Hall of Fame alumni awards.

Members are also welcome to serve on the four committees of the Board: (1) Nominations Committee; (2) Awards Committee; (3) Reunion Committee and (4) Alumni as Mentors Committee.

MT&D Alumni Society members are also encouraged to become members of the U-M Alumni Association.

Board of Governors

The MT&D Alumni Society Board of Governors has 15 volunteer members, elected on a rotating basis, for three-year terms. Board members may serve two consecutive terms. As representatives of all disciplines of the School of Music, Theatre & Dance, the Board provides support for programs and endeavors outlined by the School of Music, Theatre & Dance.

Programs and projects initiated by the Board of Governors:

- Create mentoring opportunities for current MT&D students

- Award alumni for professional work & dedication to the performing arts

- Plan annual alumni reunion activities

- Help advance the mission and goals of the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance
