Jason Corey teaches courses in sound recording, timbral ear training, and musical acoustics and has diverse experience as a freelance recording engineer. His research is concerned with the development of audio processing tools for surround sound and multichannel audio with applications in music and film sound recording. He is a recent recipient of the Paul D. Fleck Fellowship at The Banff Centre in Banff, Canada, where he has worked as an Audio Research Associate. He has presented his research at conferences in Germany, New York and Los Angeles. His research and education have been supported by the Audio Engineering Society Educational Foundation (New York), Bang & Olufsen A/S (Denmark), McGill University Stern Fellowship for Doctoral Studies in Music, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Pioneer Electronic Corporation (Japan), and TC Electronic A/S (Denmark).
Professor Corey is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the Acoustical Society of America.
