Graduate student orientation begins Wednesday, August 27, 2008. We will begin at 9:00am with a mandatory Orientation Meeting. The session will provide streamlined information about required placement tests, ensemble auditions, advising and registration. At this meeting each student will receive a customized folder of materials with a schedule of appointments.
Below is an overview of the schedule. Some students will have additional appointments based on degree program.

September 2 - Classes begin!
Transfer student orientation begins at 8:00 a.m. on Central Campus with the Office of New Student Programs (ONSP). It continues at 1:00 p.m. with academic advising at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance on North Campus (Moore Building). Students who attend this session have individual meetings for advising and transfer credit review. The afternoon will also include the piano placement test and class registration.
Theory placement - students living close to Ann Arbor may chose to take the theory placement test on Friday, June 20, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Stearns Building on North Campus. Otherwise, all transfer students must take the theory placement test during Fall Orientation on Wednesday, August 27 (see Fall 2008 Orientation schedule above).
Summer orientation is strongly encouraged for new transfer students. If you cannot attend the summer session on June 13, you must attend Fall Orientation (see above).
