Freshman Orientation

Orientation for undergraduate students is coordinated through the Office of New Student Programs (ONSP).  Once your enrollment deposit is credited to your account, you will receive information from ONSP which will include details about how to register for your orientation session on-line.  You must register and receive confirmation from ONSP in order to participate in orientation.

During the three-day program students complete the necessary procedures for class registration, including placement exams and academic advising.  Day 1 is spent on Central Campus; the afternoon of Day 2 and morning of Day 3 with the SMTD Admissions and Student Services staff, advisors and current SMTD students.

You must attend an orientation session in order to register for classes.  Attending Summer Orientation is highly recommended.  If you are unable to attend a summer session, we will also offer orientation in the fall, beginning on September 1.
