Jazz Pedagogy for the Music Teacher

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This workshop will help educators learn how to teach beginning improvisation, conduct a jazz ensemble and combo and locate necessary reference texts, music and recordings. In addition to a typical lecture format participants will get to play and sing in order to master concepts
CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS:
This workshop has been approved by the State of Michigan to offer SB-CEU’s.

GRADUATE CREDIT:
Graduate credit is available. The ‘Jazz Pedagogy for the Music Teacher ' workshop
may be taken for one or two credits, which can be transferred to another institution's graduate program. Prospective students must apply to the School as "Not Candidate for Degree" (NCFD) students, and, if accepted, pay for the credit(s) at the appropriate tuition rate (in-state or out-of-state).
