Teaching the Special Education Student in Music

Monday - Thursday: 2:00 - 7:30 pm
Friday: 10:30 - 4:00pm
INSTRUCTOR:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with:
a) the characteristics of children and youth with disabilities
b) adaptive strategies for teaching music and managing the inclusive classroom
c) the role and responsibilities of music educators who teach children and youth
with disabilities in the secondary schools
GRADUATE CREDIT:
Graduate credit is available. Teaching the Special Education Student in Music Workshop may be taken for
2 credits (graduate level) through the University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre & Dance and transferred
to another institution's graduate program.
CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS:
This workshop has been approved by the State of Michigan to offer SB-CEU’s.
