Music Technology for Music Educators

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

This course discusses the applications of contemporary technologies to the field of music education. Technologies that are discussed may include the Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI), computer-assisted notation, computer-assisted instruction (CAI), analog and digital audio, mixers, microphones, synthesizers, signal routing, and the creation of support of web sites. Student will learn how to integrate these technologies into their classroom instruction for the purposes of improving musical performance and instruction.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS:

              This workshop has been approved by the State of Michigan to offer SB-CEU’s.

              Total Number of CEU: 2.1

GRADUATE CREDIT:

Graduate credit is available.  The Music Technology for Music Educators workshop may be taken for one or two credits, which can be transferred to another institution's graduate program. Prospective students must apply to the School as "Not Candidate for  Degree" (NCFD) students, and, if accepted, pay for the credit(s) at the appropriate tuition rate (in-state or out-of-state).
